Marci, Nick . Tower (The 3rd Version). N.d. Fantasy Art, Novosibirsk. www.arthit.ru. Web. 19 Dec. 2012. |
Our first themed portfolio piece here at Art Jam will be in
honor of Peter Jackson’s new title The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. While the
critical jury is still out on the film, we will honor his previous work with
our theme of “Tower.” That is right; “Tower” is
the theme of your illustration. Feel free to interpret in this any way you see
fit. Draw skyscrapers, a princess escaping her prison, or whatever your
creative minds can conjure.
All pieces must be sent in
the comment section of this post with your name, title and a let bit
about the piece. The deadline for any form of a critique or feedback on your
piece will be December 31, 2012. Let’s hope the Mayans were wrong.

Took the theme tower and incorporated Assassin's Creed into it. I definitely need help and tips when it comes to drawing hands and dynamic perspective
The perspective at least gets the point across. I like the darker, bolder lines at places but I'd push the black even further and maybe utilize some of them on the far arm. I think the two major things I'd change/add would be some connecting elements between 'Ezio' and the ledge he's leaping from. Obviously he has just leaped from there, but I think some debris or dust trail either falling from the ledge, leading from him or both would sell it more and not seem so disparate. Also, the soldier firing his bow doesn't have very convincing weight behind the bow release. You have some motion blur on the arrow, but not on the bow itself. Aside from that I think it's pretty successful. Good work, and hey you actually finished on time, unlike me.
DeleteThat is a great idea, adding a slight puff of dust or perhaps maybe a splinter or two.
